Wow! This is a beautiful dress! I would love to win this dress for my wedding! It will be both mine and my fiances first marriages (and hopefully only!) We have had to push back our wedding date multiple times due to lack of funds and job losses. My fiance has always dreamed of seeing me walk down the aisle in a dress similar to this and I want to be able to make his dreams come true too! We have had a tough couple of years and I want to make sure he is happy on our wedding day. I want to be able to see his face light up the first time he sees me as I walk down the aisle, just like in the movies. Please help both of our dreams come true by letting me win this gorgeous dress!
…omg…as if wedding weren’t stressful enough!! my fiance’s parents are paying for the wedding because i lost my parents years ago. and now my soon to be mother in law just freaked out on us because she wants total control of our wedding. she has told us last week that she is taking away the money she planned on applying to the cost of everything and we haven’t spoke to her since…now we are thinking we might have to move the date back or cancel the wedding all together, loosing all the deposits we have already paid. we have some money to use but its super close. if we decide to move forward, it is very possible that i won’t even wear a dress. this is supposed to be the happiest time of my life, but i’m stressed and unhappy. =(
I would love to win this! Could really use it .
There was a time when I wondered whether “Love” was only intended to be an amusing four letter word. I’d entered my thirties and still hadn’t found it … tangible, lasting and true … supposedly ….
Without much promise, He came into my life and changed all I had ever known. He quickly became all I had ever wanted … making this skeptic a genuine believer. Finally, the right One.
Over time, as our lives meshed together, we became inseparable. Marriage seemed the only logical conclusion to our fairytale. Now, all I need is the dress, this dress, and a “happily ever after” wish to make it complete.
Thank you, sincerely, for this opportunity to make myself into the beautiful bride that I believe every woman is intended to be. True, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and more than outward appearance, but how lovely to beautifully accent the god-given gifts that we possess simply by virtue of being woman.
I like weddings. Weddings are nice.
My Fiancee and I met through a friend who had posted her profile on LavaLife. She was having trouble deciding which guy she should continue a relationship with and when I was over at her house one day I ended up talking to the guy I had dubbed ‘#18′ (I’m horrible with names!) One thing led to another and after 2 months of texting back and forth (up to 200 messages a day!) we met. We started dating, he flew out to BC with me to see my dying great-grandmother, and a couple months later we found out I was pregnant. (I was 16, Surprise!)
3 years later we’ve moved across the country twice, and have finally settled with our now 3 year old daughter and our new puppy, Winnie. I’d love to say it’s been hard and that’s why I’d love to win the dress, but honestly it hasn’t. Sure, it’s been alot to deal with but we’ve had family every step of the way and being young parents is no different than being well… just parents. I graduate Baking & Pastry next summer when we’ll also be planning to have our second child and just a couple months before the wedding. The real reason I’d love to win this dress is just to clear those purse strings a little and have one less thing to deal with in the upcoming planning!
I’d love to win this for my daughter. Her fiance will be in graduate school in the fall and she will be a senior with plans to attend graduate school the following year (ahem…can we say no money?). As parents, we would like to give them the wedding they deserve…this would help!
I’d love to win this dress. My fiancee and I are on a very tight budget, I’m in my last year of college, a new mom, and I lust over the Reem Acra dresses everyday. I always imagined getting married in a big princessy dress. But after an unplanned pregnancy, and not too much support from my family, we are pulling whatever money we can save to buy a used dress. You may ask what my reason is to get married all of a sudden, well I was raised by my grandparents, and my grandfather is like a father to me. Five months ago he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and has been getting progressively worse. I am getting married in 2 months, because it is my wish for my grandfather to walk me down the aisle. I’m afraid if we wait any longer to save up for a nicer wedding, one of the most important parts of my wedding (father walking daughter down aisle) will never be possible. I know each person have their own problems, and mine is time. I need more time, but it is something my father cannot afford.
Up until the moment that I fell in love, I had an empty feeling in my chest. I didn’t know what it was, or how to quite put a finger on it until I found the one for me, and the feeling was fulfilled in the most beautiful way imaginable. One child later, and money and priorities aren’t what they used to be. A girl can dream….
When i saw this dress, i knew that without a doubt, it would make my husband to be’s mouth drop. I have been planning our entire wedding alone, as he has been stationed in Afghanistan since August 2009. We are getting married in October of 2010, and more than anything in the world, I want my husband to be standing at the end of that aisle waiting for me, and have his breath taken away. It is so hard to find ways of thanking our service men and women for all that they do. I know I could never repay him for laying his life on the line for our country, but my hopes would be that the day we say ‘I DO’, he will know without a doubt that he is serving for something that means the world to him. I want to walk down that aisle, the most gorgeous women he has ever seen!!
When I saw this dress all I could think of is my fiancee Reshma. I would love to suprise my soon to be wife with a beautiful dress from Reem Arca. She is the sunshine of my day. I love waking up to her voice and wondering what the day has in store for us. We are both full time college students and part time workers. I would love nothing more than to suprise her with the dress of her dreams. I know the Groom is not supposed to look at the brides dress before the wedding day but I know that this is the dress she has told me she loves. Once she looked at the price tag she knew that it was not in the budget and put it back. I have been doing whatever I can to get her the dress she wants because she deserves it. We have been together for 5 years and it is the best 5 years of my life. So please help me make all of her wedding dreams come true.
Reem Acra dresses are like great architecture. The dress is elegant, beatiful and would be a thrill to wear on my wedding in Chicago at the Art Institute. Why would I love to win this dress? Aside from its beautiful lines and beading, it would be a blessing to win it. My fiancee was laid off a year ago and like many, we’re looking at ways to keep costs down. I know I couldn’t splurge for a Reem Acra gown otherwise, and this would be pure joy to win! – no pun intended
Wow! What a fantastic wedding dress! Any bride to be would be thrilled to have it to wear for their big day. I’m sure that my daughter will be speechless when she sees this prize!
This dress is gorgeous. The design on the bodice is what draws me to the dress. I have been looking for a simple, but still extravagent, strapless dress. This is it! I absolutely love it, and would love to win it!
Trying to have a wedding in Santa Barbara has turned out to be so much more expensive than we thought. We have been very blessed with some of the things we have been able do with very little money. We are doing a mostly DIY wedding to help save money. We are saving the most money for the dress and photographer as those are two things that will last past the actual day. I have been searching for the perfect dress and I can honestly say this is an absolute beauty. In order to afford having all our family and friends that will be able to come, we are even cooking (with my soon to be Mother in Law’s help, who happens to be an incredible Italian cook) the food for the reception ourselves with only a little help from the caterers who agreed to work with us. I can say winning this dress would be an unexpected and wonderful blessing to help make the day even that more brilliant. In addition, I am working toward my goal of losing 60lbs (I have already lost 65lbs since Aug09) to get down to a healthy weight, and of course it will be even better to be able to look gorgeous in a gown like this!
A FREE WEDDING DRESS!! What a great prize! My fiancee and I have been together for 7 years already, but have been slowly saving up for our dream wedding. With the economy the way it is and myself being in graduate school, it is easy to say that money is tight. We cut back on everything (date nights, eating out) to be able to save for our big day. By the time this day comes, we will have been engaged for 3 years! Winning a wedding dress would take away such a big burden from us financially.
Hello, I would love to win this dress, as it would help make my dream of a perfect wedding come true, my husband to be and I are doing things a little differently.
For our honey moon we will be going to Zambia in africa. This trip will cost aprox 4500 dollars, the aim of our honey moon is to go there and set up a football school for school children and also do some other work with children, and some work out in the bush, we will take two others with us so we will be a team of 4. as we are youth leaders, we will take one of our young and another. we will be there 5 weeks.
We have a very low budget for our wedding as we will be spending our money on the mission work (that i am very happy about as i know it will make a HUGE difference
however it means i can not have my dream wedding or honey moon. however i have no regrets, i know our work there will help so many people.
so i would love to win this dress, so if you think its for a good cause pick me
however if someone needs it more than me thats ok, thank you for reading, have a nice day. Amy
My boyiance and I met almost 5 years ago, and quickly new we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We have planned most of the wedding, and yet do not have a date and I am not wearing the ring yet. He knows that I believe an engagement is for the purpose of planning a wedding, and not simply another step in a relationship. We have had some MAJOR financial trouble in the past few years, stuff that a lot of married couples wouldn’t be able to survive, and we’re still together. But because we have to pay for the wedidng ourselves, we are not in the position to actually get married right now. I call him my boyiance because it’s more than a boyfriend, but since I am not wearing a ring (which he had made 4 years ago) I do not consider myself a fiance. Yet.
We’ve discussed many aspects of our wedding, and have put the food, location & photography at the top of the budget. I was not planning on spending a lot on a dress, although I yearn for a gown like the one being given away. Having this beautiful Reem Acra gown would take a lot of pressure off of the already tight budget that we will have.
When I first heard about a free wedding dress give away, I thought the dress must have something wrong with it. I mean wedding dresses are expensive, people don’t usually just give them away. I soon realized how wrong I was when I saw this dress. It is absolutely gorgeous. I would feel honored to wear it. In this economy right now, it is hard to get by on the daily things. Having this dress would take so much stress off for the future.
I am having my wedding in Hawaii (I’m born and raised there), although my fiance’s family is coming from NY and FL. Since it is a “destination” wedding, we’ll be cutting our guest list and all our expenses down to the bare minimum. This includes getting a dress. I would love to win this dress simply because it would allow me to spend more money on guest baskets and goodies for all of our out of town guests. Since my fiance and I have been together for over 6 years and bought a house together over a year ago, we already feel married. I want our wedding to be all about our guests. Winning this dress would give us more to give to them!
Marriage vows state “richer or poorer” & “in sickness and in health”, but who expects to really live up to the vows before the wedding?
My fiance and I met 9 years ago while in college. We instantly hit it off, and I knew that one day I would marry him. I had ideas of a big, wonderful wedding and a long life of happiness and prosperity… BUT… in November of 2009, all that changed.
One morning, I woke up and could no longer see out of my left eye. It was the day before Thanksgiving and I was very scared. A trip to the ER told me I had nothing to worry about and to enjoy the holiday. After about a week, my vision was still gone, and I suddenly lost all feeling in the left side of my face…. I was only 27.
I was admitted to the hospital after an “abnormal” MRI. Totally scared, I remained in the hospital for 5 days and was given a life long sentence… you have Multiple Sclerosis.
Through all of this, my fiance (boyfriend at the time) stayed with me. He slept in an armchair for the entire 5 days I stayed in the hospital. He refused to leave my side. He told me that he loved me and that he would never go anywhere. He was the strength that got me through it!
My life after leaving the hospital has not bee the same. I now endure at-home injections of medication, which my fiance helps me with. I eat a very strict and difficult diet, which he also follows as comfort. I wondered if he would really be able to handle the medical uncertainties of MS for his entire life…..
Then on Christmas Eve 2009, I was completely shocked and surprised when he asked me to be his wife by the Christmas tree. Even after the emotional, physical and uncertain roller coaster that we rode for the last year, he still wanted to make it forever. He is my best friend, lover and confidante, and even though we do not have a lot of money, we have the richest item in the world, LOVE.
I would love to win this dress to show him how beautiful his wife can be, sick or not, and to make our wedding day the best day of our life together.
Honestly, I am no different than any other woman that is in need of a wedding gown on their special day. One day I was at work and the next thing I know my job went bankrupt. In the midst of planning a wedding I went from a decent budget to basically no budget at all. I receive unemployment which is helping to maintain but most jobs say I am over qualified go figure. In the midst I have continued dreaming and praying for everything to work itself out I know that it will we have pushed the date back to Aug of next year so as I continue to seek a job to get back financially stable. I consumed myself even more with our 5 kids I have four boys from a previous relationship and 1 daughter with FI. I have been so involved that coaches and the church call me if they don’t see me I am the room mom for all of them from our daughter to my oldest son. Yes I do surprise visits and lunch on occassions with them they are enjoying that. I mean I am enjoying my time with my babies but a girl can’t help but dream right.I mean I can’t ask for a better man to come in and take responsibility of someone elses children and love them like his own. Our budget is so tight now even with it being pushed back who knows if it will happen. This is both our first wedding the kids have been so excited and I hate to dissappoint them and have to continue to push my wedding back yet again even though it may be a possibility. The dress is a major part that every woman loves to have tailored to herself. You dream of this day and to be perfect in your dress just to have the feeling of Ahhh when you step into the room is the most amazing feeling in the world. Winning this dress would be my something new or even my something borrowed as both would help tie into a beautiful day for all of us. I would love for my FI to be able to see me in such a beautiful gown. Thank you for the opportunity to get this all out. Best of luck to all of you ladies.
since I recycle in my life , the idea of a recycled dress is very appealing
I am entering this to try and win it as a suprise for a good friend and co-worker of mine. She is an amazing lady, who will be marrying the father of her cutie pie this summer.
I think she deserves this because she is one of those people who always puts others first. She never has anything bad to say about anyone, she never complains. Even though she is younger than me ( by more than 10 years) she is a role model. She inspires me in so many ways, not just in the big things like being a more positive and friendly person, but in little ways like remembering my vitamins and drinking more water!
Because they have a little girl ( she just turned 2) and are just finishing up building a house, money for a fancy dress is just not in the cards for her.
She just has the most amazing perspective on things for someone in their mid 20’s. They are having a small wedding, they know a wedding is just one day it’s the marriage that matters. The house they have built is actually an old carriage house that they have moved onto a lot in a rural area, and are rebuilding it. They lived in one room in what was to become the basement through her whole prenancy while they re assembled the carriage house around them. Up until this past summer she drove an old ( I mean OLD!) car because it was ‘good enough’.
She is not going into debt trying to keep up with the jonses because she knows that the things in life that matter, are the ones you cant put a price on, like family and friends.
So I am asking for the chance to win this dress to show my friend that good things happen to good people.
Aloha,
This dress so classic and has an elegant design to it. The beading is also fabulous. When I saw the picture I thought of my baby sister and how regal she would look in it on her wedding day. She is getting married in Paris France. She has been searching for the perfect dress and I would just love to surprise her with this and take the stress out of “the search!”
Mahalo for this amazing opportunity!!
A beautiful wedding dress!
I am getting married next year, and could really use a beautiful dress like this. My mother offered to buy my dress, but I can’t financially let her do that. If I were to win this dress, I would be off the hook! She refuses to let me buy my own dress, but she struggles financially, and this would be my way off the hook. I would be forever grateful!
I’d love to win this for my beautiful daughter. She is my only child and I want to give her the best!
Thank you
My husband and I would love to give our daughter the wedding of her dreams but really can’t afford what she deserves. If I could win this dress for her I’m sure that the cutting corners on other things wouldn’t matter to her at all. Thanks for offering this beautiful dress.
I am a recycled bride- and am proud to say we are having a very recycled wedding… i don’t have a touching story really, but we’re young and poor and paying for our wedding ourselves. while most weddings are like the movie avatar, ours will be more like a fun low-budget indie film- and this dress could help it get great reviews
I am marrying my best friend.
My husband & I eloped in Vegas wearing whatever we had packed for the trip…We are planning on having a more traditional wedding sometime this year, so our friends & family can be there & I would love to have a gorgeous real wedding dress like this one for the occassion.
I would love to win this wedding gown for my sister-in-law. She’s on a $6K budget to
cut down on wedding expenses. Her wedding will be held at a catered loft. I can picture how stunning the gown would look for her first dance. I can’t think of a better wedding gift than presenting it to her before her wedding day. It’ll definitely be the perfect gift since it will help out her out tremendously. She’ll always have this beautiful gown to treasure for her memorable day!
Quite simply, this dress is exquisite. I love that this dress is made from a biodegradable and renewable material that fits with the recycled bride theme. With everything to be eco-friendly and renewable at my wedding it would be the perfect fit, just like my soon to be husband.
nice dress ty
Growing up in the south, the daughter of a tobacco farmer, there wasn’t a lot of money to spend on weddings and pretty dresses. I had to be very frugal and my reception was given by the ladies of the church. I’ve always dreamed of having that beautiful gown and spectacular event that all girls want. Now, I have a daughter who dreams that same dream. I would love to be able to make her dream a reality and I know she’d adore this wedding gown. A dress that looks like a million bucks would bring a million dollar smile to her face and mine.
My daughter is 21 and autistic. She is so beautiful and probably never be well enough to ever get married. I would love to see her as a princess for a day.
Why I want to win this Reem Acra designer wedding dress: I am a wedding dress fanatic!
(I hope I’m not too late) I would love to win this beautiful dress for my fiance. I don’t know much about dresses, but I know that she has talked about having a Reem Acra dress for a long time. I wish that I could buy it for her, but I work full time to put myself through school full time. That doesn’t leave much money for the nice, big wedding that she (secretly) would love to have. And she just recently graduated from college, which she paid for too, and I’m so proud of her. We are getting married in November in my parents backyard because we don’t have much money. My finace is such a wonderful person and she has worked so hard her whole life. I’m so lucky that she agreed to spend the rest of her life with me and I know that no matter what she is wearing she will be the most beautiful bride ever. This would make her so happy and I would love to win this for her.
Quite simply, this dress is exquisite. I love that this dress is made from a biodegradable and renewable material that fits with the recycled bride theme. With everything to be eco-friendly and renewable at my wedding it would be the perfect fit, just like my soon to be husband.
I would love to win this dress. I am a bride on a budget, destination wedding , all the details DIY. Currently I’m looking for a dress on freecycle or the $99 davids sale. I would love to win this dress so i look fabulous and not cheesy on my big day
